National Institutes of Health Scholarship- The National Institutes of Health (NIH) Undergraduate Scholarship Program (UGSP) offers competitive scholarships to students from disadvantaged backgrounds who are committed to careers in biomedical, behavioral, and social science health-related research. Lowland Credit Union Lee Johns Memorial- must be a 2020 graduating high school senior, have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or above, be a member in good standing at Lowland Credit Union (parents membership does not apply) and plan to enroll or be enrolled in a full-time undergraduate course of study at an accredited two or four-year college or university. “Life. Made Better” Commercial Bank Scholarship- students who wish to apply should have at least a 3.0 GPA and be involved in two extracurricular activities (including sports, school clubs, volunteer work, or employment). Recommendation letter from a teacher or counselor required. Essay of at least 1,000 words describing facets of what he/she believes can make life better for individuals in the community and how he/she commits to that goal. Tennessee School of Beauty-C.B. Brown Scholarship Program high school seniors that are not presently or previously enrolled in a Cosmetology course are eligible to apply. Applicants must be interested in pursuing a career in the field of cosmetology. This is a full tuition scholarship. Applications are available in the Counseling Office.

Morristown-Hamblen Lions Club Scholarship- students who plan on attending Walters State Community College and plan to pursue a career in the healthcare field are eligible to apply for this $500 scholarship. Applications are available in the Counseling Office and must be turned in to the Counseling Office by the deadline.

Young American Creative Patriotic Art Contest- Any student in grades 9-12 who is enrolled in a public, private, or parochial high school or home study program. Deadline: March 31, 2020 to Local VFW Auxiliary

East Tennessee Region, AACA Automotive Technology Scholarship- student must have been accepted to, or currently enrolled in a high school, college, or trade school program leading to a degree or certification in automotive technology and/or restoration, must have shown an active interest in the hobby of antique vehicles, and have not received this scholarship previously. $1,000 scholarship. Applications are available in the Counseling Office.

PB&J Scholarship- The PB&J scholarship awards students who have experienced challenges in their life that may not have allowed them to perform well academically but still have the drive to succeed. $500-$1000 award. Apply online at http://bit.ly/pbjscholars2020

Appalachian Fair Scholarship- Must have participated in Appalachian Fair within past two years, minimum 2.5 GPA, three letters of recommendation, essay on why you want the scholarship. Horatio Alger Career & Technical Scholarship- the Horatio Alger Association seeks to assist students who have demonstrated integrity, perseverance in overcoming adversity, strength of character, financial need, commitment to pursue a career or technical certification/degree, and a desire to contribute to society. Morristown Hamblen Hospital Auxiliary Scholarship - Morristown Hamblen Healthcare will be awarding two scholarships to deserving high school students in the Hamblen and surrounding counties. Each scholarship will be $750 and will be presented to a graduating senior who plans to attend college or a tech school and enter into a "health related" field. Applications are available in the Counseling Office.

Student View Scholarship Program- Login to the website and complete an application survey about colleges in your area. The scholarship will be awarded by a random drawing of all completed applications. Winner announced in May. Apply online at www.student-view.com

Trojan Army Scholarship- write an essay describing your contributions to West High during your four years of high school. Minimum of one page typed, but no more than two pages. Double space the essay. Include your activities, interest, goals and future plans. Applications available in the Counseling Office. Turn in completed applications to the Counseling Office.

Shepherd Scholarship Foundation- applicants will be considered based on academic achievements, extra-curricular activities in high school, and financial need. Bigsun Scholarship- Young athletes who wish to succeed in their academic pursuits. Any capacity of a coach, player or official.
