Day in the life of Mrs. Kimberly hall

Mrs. Hall is definitely no stranger to West High School, as Hall notes, “I'm proud to have graduated from West in 1984 and to have spent my entire 28+ years teaching here.” 

 As Mrs. Hall takes an early start to her day, she’s up before the sun, waking up at 4:30 AM to take care of her beloved pets. By the time she makes it to school, she begins her work between 7:00-7:30 AM. Hall states, “I have classes first, third, and fourth, and my second block planning period is always hectic.  Between teaching classes, attending to managerial tasks such as communicating with parents, working on lesson plans, and grading papers, my day flies by.” 

     Hall's hobbies include “spending time with friends as much as possible.  I also like reading and binge-watching streaming platforms.” Hall has also mentioned her favorite hobbies which include reading. Reading allows her to connect with authors and other readers who love what she loves as well. To her, reading helps Hall relate to others by understanding certain challenges and exposes her to characters in crisis. She feels that the year so far is going amazingly. She mentions, “I am loving my students this semester and finding the school year has gotten off to a smooth start.  Dr. Sanders' leadership has made this feel like a new, exciting experience, which makes me confident in facing challenges that may arise.”

For Hall, having second period planning is not the luxury some may suspect it to be. Having second block planning results in losing time for lunch, which is a major dealbreaker. Unfortunately, for the majority of her career, she has had first and second block planning, which she states, “those are the two I would never pick!  LOL!” 

In conclusion, Hall has a great responsibility to her students and ensures that she is preparing them for what lies ahead. Hall says, “I believe it is the best 'job' in the world, and what I mean by that is that despite it being a way that I make a living, teaching brings me immense joy.”
