Government Monitoring on Trial: Students Examine Constitution
Oct. 30, Mr. Greene's and Mrs. Smith's government classes performed a Supreme Court simulation. Students were assigned roles for a fictional case about a government monitoring system for citizens. The plaintiff, Alex Johnson, is a high school student. The defendant is the United States of America. The Supreme Court justice students listened to both sides before rendering their decisions. The students prepared for this simulation by researching the 1st and 4th Amendments, along with court cases dealing with social media platforms and national security issues.
