On November 19, West High hosted a warm and festive Thanksgiving meal in the cafeteria prepared and served by the school’s dedicated lunch ladies. Students and staff gathered to enjoy a traditional holiday menu—complete with turkey, sides, and desserts—while taking a break from their busy schedules to share food, conversation, and gratitude.

The homemade‑style turkey, sides, and desserts were met with grateful smiles and many thanks for the cafeteria staff’s extra effort. Students from different grades sat together, clubs swapped stories, and teachers used the meal as a moment to recognize accomplishments and school spirit. Small gestures—handwritten notes and quick verbal thanks—made the day feel personal and warm. The lunch ladies’ hard work turned a normal school day into a meaningful community celebration that left everyone a little fuller and a lot more thankful. Cafeteria manager, Dena Roach commented “I just wanted to thank everyone that came to the cafeteria to have our Thanksgiving meal with us. We feed 1177 students today, 73 teachers, 25 central office and other staff and 12 transportation department staff. It was a very busy day and we appreciate everyone’s patience with us today. Now let’s get ready to do it all again for Christmas."
