At West High School, there are a lot of students with special talents that don’t always get noticed. Whether it’s in art, music, sports, or other hobbies, many people have skills that make them stand out. Students at West High have shared with us some of the talents they have learned. They have various talents at West High School like a rainbow flick, embroidery, and archery.

Isabella Moser first brought up learning archery as a joke to her mom. She was quoted saying, “when she said I probably wouldn’t like it, that actually made it my new obsession.” Moser started learning archery in the 4th grade. She started taking personal archery lessons in Nashville and then proceeded to do competitions with 4-H.

Pascual Perez Gomez's talent is that in soccer he can do a rainbow flick in soccer. It took him about 2 weeks to learn it and do it consistently. Gomez commented, “Whenever I pull one off successfully during a game I feel very satisfied since it's a gamble.” If you don’t do it successfully then you lose the ball. He watched tutorials on TikTok and practiced for 20 minutes each day.

Sophie Bower really got into embroidery because she wanted to start embroidering her jeans. Bower noted, “I learned on my own through Instagram reels.”
