Many staff members have joined the Trojan Nation, the newest among them, Mrs. Stormie Minor. Minor is the newest ESL Teacher at Morristown West.
Minor is an English language learner teacher, ELL for short. She works for students whose first language is not English. Minor states “I help the English Language Learner become proficient in English skills. This includes comprehension, writing, listening, and speaking.”
Minor has attended multiple colleges around Tennessee, receiving her Bachelor's degree from Tusculum and two master's degrees from ETSU. Her family consists of her two daughters, thirteen year old Chloe, seven year old Kyliegh, and her two year old son. Minor noted, “We love to keep busy playing and enjoying activities outside.”
English happens to be the only language that Minor teaches, but states that she would like to learn Spanish. Minor implied, “My students are helping with words and phrases everyday.” Minor explains that she has really enjoyed her time so far as a Trojan. “It has been amazing so far. Faculty and students have helped make me feel at home at West High. Thank you!”
A quote that Minor lives by that she includes is "Know thyself" -Aristotle. “When you know who you are, you can be wise about your goals, your dreams, your standards, your convictions. Knowing who you are allows you to live your life with purpose and meaning.” Some advice that Minor would like to give students is “You learn something everyday if you listen.”
