West High welcomes new counselor Mrs. Tonya Ely. Ely has a bachelor’s degree in Organizational Management from Tusculum and her masters in school counseling from Carson-University.
Ely says, “I enjoy working with students. I also like that my day is never the same, which keeps things interesting.” Ely is a native of Rutledge and lived there her whole life until moving to Morristown in 1999.
She and her husband have been married for 16 years. They have three children Logan, Bailey and Trinity. Ely also loves her pets. She has three dogs named Minnie, Chloe and Izzy.
Ely says, “The school spirit, was very impressive on the first day of school when students would sing the Alma Mater.” She also loves to hike; I am working on completing all the trails in the Smokies.
Her favorite color is turquoise. Ely loves 80’s and 90’s rock-hair bands. Ely’s favorite subject is history.
