Morristown West’s tennis team is beginning the season as the largest tennis team in the state of Tennessee, with Coach Ron Bowlin as head coach. West played against Cherokee in an away game for their second regular season match on Monday, March 11, 2024. The women’s team fell 4-5 to Cherokee. Nonetheless, Melanie Gal, Sami Barber, and Allie Moore won single matches. Winning in doubles for West were Gal and Peyton Winter. The men’s team swept Cherokee 9-0. Single-match winners were Bradley Greene, Eli Shoun, Eli Morrison, Brance Matthews, Andrew Gal, and Brayden Martin. Doubles wins belonged to Greene, Gal, Morrison, Matthews, Martin, and Bryson Whaley. Today, the Trojans will play Cocke County on Tuesday, March 12 at Frank Lorino at 4 p.m. They will face Seymour at an away game on Thursday, March 14.
