Track Athletes Compete at Vanderbilt University

West High School athletes Jayden Howard (senior) and Kennedie Couch (junior) competed at the indoor track state championships at Vanderbilt University on Feb. 7–8. Howard finished 6th in the 60-meter dash, while Couch achieved a personal record in the 3200-meter run, and both described the competition as a "great experience."

Howard stated, " It was a great experience to compete against some of the best in the state and see our hard work pay off."  Couch shared, "My experience at Vanderbilt was so much fun. Two of my teammates and I all went down and we all hit a personal best of what we did... it was a super fun race to attend and I can't wait to go back."

The meet served as a pivotal moment for both athletes as they transitioned toward the outdoor season. Complete results for the event can be found on TNMileSplit.
