West Side Story would like to introduce Craig Short. He teaches Machining and Principals of Manufacturing at Morristown West. He was born and raised in Morristown, Tennessee. Short has not been teaching very long. In fact, this is only his tenth week of teaching. When asked what influenced Short to become a teacher his response was, “I wasn’t the best student myself. Mr. Coffey believed in me when no one else did. I want to be a difference in some kids lives.”
Short believes students learn best when students use more hands on training. Therefore, he would like to see more hands on training in the school system. He enjoys creating lesson plans and projects that students will enjoy and will use in the real world. Short states, “his biggest challenge he faces as a teacher is Kids that don’t want to learn.”
When Short is not teaching, he enjoys playing golf, watching his son play baseball, and attending church. Give Mr. Short a huge Trojan welcome to Trojan Nation!
