In this year of 2023 West High Trojans and East High Hurricanes came head to head in a game of soccer. Both teams did an amazing job but in the end the win goes to West High. Congratulations to West High Trojans for sticking it out to the end and bringing home a win. In the first half of the game, both teams put up a great fight guarding their net. Jorge Mazariegos on the West High soccer team attempted to score a goal but unfortunately failed. However, he made a successful comeback by scoring the first goal of the night with 17 minutes and 4 seconds on the clock. "It was a difficult game. my team mates and I have been training really hard to win all our games." said Mazariegos Within just a few minutes another goal was scored by Dylan Lopez leaving 10 minutes and 49 seconds on the clock.
During the halftime there was a traditional dance performed by a group of people dressed up in customary outfits. Sofia Castro and Nicolas Gallardo performed during the half time. “It’s hard to dance with this headpiece on,” said Nicolas Gallardo, “but we like to dance.” Sofia Castro continued.
Throughout the second half of the game, the ball was launched into the air from one side of the field to the other side. Three players jumped in the air trying to take possession of the ball which caused a player from East High to fall back onto the ground. Fellow trojan Braden Melling showed great sportsmanship by helping an East High Hurricane from off the ground. Lopez also scored yet another goal leaving the final score of the night to be 3-0. All in all both teams showed amazing signs of sportsmanship and aspiration.
