Students Share Their Favorite Rides

When in high school, there comes a time for most students to finally get their first car and experience life out on the road. This can be an exciting time for a lot of students because it is the first real step into new responsibility and freedom. The West High School parking lot is full of students’ cars that they drive all around town.

1. AJ Huffman- Senior

AJ Huffman tends to turn a lot of heads with his 1973 Corvette. He said, “I’ve been a fan of them since seventh grade and got a 1977 my sophomore year; however, it got hit by another vehicle. Probably 6 months after that, I bought the car I have today, and I am currently fixing it up and planning on making a YouTube Channel with it.”


2. Andrew Goodman- Junior

Andrew Goodman, West Side Story Editor, drives a Chili Red 2007 Mini Cooper S. Goodman gave a small backstory behind his Mini Cooper. He revealed that his car is named Pepper. Goodman said, “I have named my Mini Pepper because the color name reminds me of a Red Chili Pepper.” He also shared the perks of his car, stating, “It’s has a turbo which makes it go comparatively faster than a base Mini and gives an even more enjoyable driving experience.” For more backstory behind Goodman’s red Mini, he shared where he found his car online. Goodman explained, “I sold my BMW because I needed something cheaper on gas and I found this Mini on Facebook. I immediately fell in love with it since it matched the Mini that I built online a while ago which included black racing stripes.”


3. Brandon Goskie- Senior

Brandon Goskie, a Senior at West High, drives a 2012 Dodge Charger. He shares that having his car had always been a dream of his. Goskie said, “It’s always been a dream of mine to have one, and when I finally got one, it was a dream come true.” Goskie then shared a piece of advice to other students trying to get their dream cars. He advises, “The best thing to remember is to keep pushing for your dreams, and eventually you will achieve them.”
