Students/Seniors Heavily Encouraged to Apply for Scholarships

Students are heavily encouraged to try and apply for many of the scholarships that are readily available for them in the Counseling department. The Walters State Foundation offers over $500,000 in scholarships each year. Students who plan to attend Walters State are encouraged to complete the Walters State Foundation Scholarship Application. The deadline to apply is Feb. 1, 2024. Scholarships are awarded based on many factors. Some are reserved for residents of certain counties or students majoring in a particular field. Many are based on academic achievement, while others are focused on financial need. Scholarships may be available in areas such as athletics, debate and music. Funding for scholarships is provided through endowments and donations made by generous donors to the Walters State Foundation.  Scholarship funds can be applied to tuition, books, transportation and other college-related expenses.
