The Morristown West Speech and Debate team competed in the District 5 tournament, which qualifies students to compete in the State tournament. Any student that received 4th place or higher will be heading to State competition on the 22nd. So join us in congratulating the following students and wishing them luck at state!
In Dramatic Interpretation, Maverick Slone placed 6th place. In Duet Acting, Kennedy Williamson and Leticia Gama placed 6th place and Emma Whitaker and Faith Hodge placed 3rd place. In Duo Interpretation, Joseph Parrott and Keana Roberts placed 5th, Rylee Linkous and Cayden Keltgen placed 2nd. In Extemporaneous Speaking, Reeslyn Short placed 4th and Just Belger placed 3rd. In Humorous Interpretation, Holden Smith placed 4th and Kimber Strumski placed 2nd. In Informative Speaking, Isabella Picardi placed 3rd and Arya Patel placed 2nd. In Original Oratory, Evan Kingplaced 5th and Haydin Salter placed 1st. In Pantomime, Nicholas Sipple placed 5th in the district. In Poetry, Maya Hill placed 4th. In Program Oral Interpretation, Abigail Snider placed 2nd and Delaney Miksa placed st. In Solo Acting, Kai Webb placed 2nd in the district. In Storytelling, Ella Hardin placed 5th. In Tv Broadcasting, Ella Mosher placed 3rd.
In the group events for, Interp. Theater Kimber Strumski, Abigail Snider, Araya Patel, Jocelyn Valdez, Keana Roberts, and Maggie Purgason placed 3rd, performing, “Dear Women of the World.” For One Act- placing 1st performing, “Leaving Iowa,” the group of Cayden Keltgen, Jeffrey Glover, Richard Robas, Delaney Miksa, and Rylee Linkous. The entire cast was all star and Cayden Keltgen won best actor.
