High school can be stressful, and sometimes the best way to take the edge off is grabbing some popcorn and turning on a good Netflix show. But don’t ever let adults tell you it’s not productive. Many shows on Netflix can actually teach a lot about friendships, relationships, and even school life! Here’s six Netflix recommendations to help get through high school!
Stranger Things
Stranger Things is a classic throwback to the 80’s, following a group of kids trying to navigate their way through a monster ridden town. While you probably aren’t battling 9-foot monsters or little girls with superpowers every day, the show also displays how to work together as a team and overcome hardships as a family.
Suits
Suits, a legal drama following Harvey Specter and Mike Ross as they try to work past ill-intentioned coworkers, criminals, and legal battles to become the best law firm in New York. Suits is a great watch for any students thinking about law school or working for the justice system. It teaches how to take control of a situation, how to argue for what you believe, and how to handle those who try to watch you fail.
The Walking Dead
The Walking Dead is a serious, gritty show that follows Rick Grimes and his gang of survivors in the midst of a zombie apocalypse. If you ever find yourself taking on zombies, this show would definitely come in handy. But it also exemplifies how to rise above and succeed when it seems the whole world is against you. A true underdog story!
Brooklyn Nine-Nine
Brooklyn Nine-Nine is a comedy following detective Jake Peralta and the antics he and his police squad get into. While providing a much needed laugh, it also shows the value and importance of a found family. A found family is a group you feel a strong connection to and consider your family, even though you aren’t related. And Brooklyn Nine-Nine is a prime example of how important it really is to find that family.
The Flash
The Flash is the epic story of Barry Allen, also known as the Flash. It shows how to work together to face adversity or anyone who tries to stand in your way!
How I Met Your Mother
How I Met Your Mother, a show about friendship and love. How I Met Your Mother follows the story of five friends, Ted, Robin, Barney, Marshall, and Lily, as they try to find love and make it through their young adult life. It shows how to tackle real life struggles like break ups, losing friends, chasing your dreams, and losing loved ones. A great watch if you need a laugh or need to cope with the struggles life can throw at you!
