Opinion: Phone-Free Classrooms Make SensePhone-Free Lunches Do Not

While keeping cell phones out of classrooms makes perfect sense because it allows students to focus on their work, I feel like some schools are taking it too far by banning students from using their phones during lunch periods. Lunch is different from class time. I feel like it is a time for students to have a break and time to socialize.
Not allowing students to access their phones during their only break time of the day is a really missed opportunity. Therefore, I feel like schools should allow students to use their phones during lunch periods because it is a good time to reset and relax, while phones should be put away when students are actually learning.
