Balancing Act: How Students Manage School, Work, and Life

The life of a student is a trial, with being tested at school, struggling at work, or even having a stroke of bad luck. Students at West sometimes have it hard. However, just because things are difficult now doesn’t mean they will not get better later. I can guarantee from experience that even how down someone may be, they need to get back up, not for anyone else, but only for them and what they may want to achieve.

It is very wise to find people that can help you with any struggles and issues you may have throughout your educational journey. If you are having trouble, I suggest talking to someone like your friends or family; maybe even a teacher, but if you feel too uncomfortable for that, I suggest talking to one of our school counselors. Especially if the thing you want to talk about is uncomfortable or an uncomfortable topic, it is okay to be embarrassed. Everyone has things they wish not to speak about, but be sure it is appropriate.

If you are looking to earn money and start working at a job; I would suggest finding a place that has decent hours and a friendly environment, especially around co-workers. Also, I suggest asking them for help if you are confused or stuck, but also not to rely on them too much. Your strength, improvement, and growth are more important than reliance.

The life of a student is not just characterized by work and school, but the life outside of both is far more important than either of those things. It is important that you do not feel miserable in

outside life; do not waste time, have fun, and do not worry about the small things, but remember to still do your homework.

Yes homework, I know I just said have fun but it is imperative that you still do your school work at home(when assigned) or it will be on you when it is the last day of school and you have 30 missing assignments and you only have TNN to finish all them, which by the way is only 25 minutes, so it would be nearly impossible if you actually finished them all.
