Last week The West Side Story conducted a survey across classes about how Mo’West students use social media. According to the survey, the average student spends about four hours and twenty minutes on social media everyday.
Out of connecting, communicating, posting and entertainment 60% of students say they use social media for entertainment the most. Favorite social media apps are divided 50/50 between Instagram and TikTok. 83.3% of students follow West High school social media pages and another 58.3% of them say they feel inclined to go to school events when they see posts about them.
The debate on whether social media is positive or negative was also 50/50. Thankfully 11/12 students report spreading positivity online.
