Help Feed Hamblen County Families This Thanksgiving

The holiday season is a time for gratitude, giving, and community. Sadly, many of our neighbors in Hamblen County continue to face hunger and hardship. According to recent data, 18.5% of Hamblen County residents live in poverty—higher than the national average of 14.1%. Even more alarming, over 42% of local children under the age of five live in poverty, compared to a national rate of 24.5%.

To help make Thanksgiving brighter for families in need, West High is holding our Annual Thanksgiving Food Drive from November 3–21. All donated items from the community can be dropped off in the office out front.

On November 21, Central Services will bring their truck to collect the items, which will then be distributed to Hamblen County citizens the following week—just in time for Thanksgiving.

We encourage all clubs and sports teams to participate by collecting three boxes of Thanksgiving food items or contributing $120 (the equivalent of three boxes). Your donations will help ensure that every family in our community can enjoy a warm, hearty holiday meal.
