Ms. Macie Green grew up here in Tennessee, in Johnson City. Green graduated from Carson-Newman. Today, she teaches sophomore English here at West.
Green's teaching career was inspired by her parents, who are both in education. Her dad was an assistant principal who made a huge impact on his students and inspired Green to do the same. Green shared, "Every Senior Night, my dad was walking some kid out on the court because either a kid did not have anyone to walk them out, or would rather my dad do it. That really made an impact on me."

Apart from her teaching career at West Green, she likes fishing with her dad and reading. Recently, she began researching her family genealogy, which she mentioned she truly enjoys.
As a recent graduate, Green offers advice to both freshmen and seniors.
Freshmen: "Friendships/ friend groups are always changing. It is ok If you decide to make new friends. Toxic friends make you feel worse about yourself after you hang out with them. You can always make new friends."
Seniors: "Enjoy the cheesy parts of senior year. Let your Mom take all the pictures she wants and dress up for every spirit day. Spend all the time with your friends and family that you can. This is last year of your “childhood” so enjoy it."
