Dashing into Dandridge

There is a little town between Morristown and Jefferson City Tennessee called Dandridge. It is known for its bodies of water called Douglas Lake. It is also known for the Great smoky mountains. The buildings in this town are dated all the way back to the 1700s and was founded in 1783, the oldest town. Dandridge is not like any other town, it is a town full of land and nearby neighbors, even old events.

Dandridge has known schools like: Jefferson County High School, Dandridge Elementary School, Maury Middle School and White Pine School. There was also an old Jefferson county High school before it was rebuilt what it is today.

Along with its old buildings there is also the old court house in downtown Dandridge. Jefferson County Courthouse was build in 1845. It is a tw0-story building full of history. It has served as a hospital during the Civil war and it is now a historical museum. The courthouse has artifacts and documents dated back to 1792. On the brick side walk it has all the names and places of the old townspeople.

Located beside the old courthouse there is a drug store called Tinsley-Bible Drug store.

Dandridge has amazing restaurants like shoney's, and Perkins American Food but the most that gets peoples attention is Taylors Market known as Kenny's market. Kenny's market has been in Dandridge since 2015. They serve amazing things like: Potato wedges, burgers, fries, pizza, and many more!

Even though that Dandridge is filled with old buildings, there is a lake called Douglas Lake. Douglas Lake is a nice, family, fishing lake that is peaceful. In the mist of it there is an old church and cemetery. It is beautiful to sit out and watch the mountains and birds.
