Boys and Girls State candidates chosen

Juniors Matthew Victory and Caroline Brady won Boys and Girls state.

Boys and Girls State is a program by local American Legion Posts that selects

High school juniors. The program is paid by a sponsoring American Legion Post, a local business or another community-based organization.

During State, the participants are exposed to the the duties and the responsibilities of an adult citizen. They go through training that goes hand to hand with their city, county and state governments.

After training they get to attend legislative sessions, court proceedings, law enforcement presentations, assemblies, bands, chorus and recreational programs.
