West High's annual Thanksgiving meal on Thursday saw a staggering turnout, with more than 1,280 people served, including students, teachers, and various school system staff members. The impressive participation resulted in a bustling, successful day in the cafeteria.

West High Cafeteria Manager Dena Roach extended her gratitude to everyone who participated in the holiday tradition. "I just wanted to thank everyone who came to the cafeteria to have our Thanksgiving meal with us," Roach said. "We feed 1177 students today, 73 teachers, 25 central office and other staff, and 12 transportation department staff."

Guests were treated to a full, traditional Thanksgiving menu featuring a choice of ham or turkey, rolls, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, stuffing, and peas. Dessert options included a choice of pumpkin pie or cake.

Despite the large crowd, the event ran smoothly, a testament to the efficient work of the cafeteria team and the understanding of those who attended. "It was a very busy day, and we appreciate everyone’s patience with us today," Roach noted.

With the Thanksgiving success now in the rearview mirror, planning for the next holiday meal is already underway.

"Now let’s get ready to do it all again for Christmas," Roach announced.

West High's Christmas meal is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, December 17.
