In the Morristown West Auditorium students had the ability to give blood to save lives April 16, 2025. The blood that was donated will be taken from the Medic team and given to Morristown Hamblen Hospital. Unlike the fall blood drive, this blood drive is not a competition against East High. Instead, the purpose is to save lives as well as raise money for HOSA. HOSA is a medical club that is for students interested in going into the healthcare field. They participate in competitions every year. The blood drive not only helps raise money, but also helps those in need. Student, Isabella Brandon, stated, “It’s a great day to save lives.”
Sherry Skeen stated, “There have been around 60 students who have given blood today.” Brandon, spoke of her experience by stating, “I love helping others, so I was very excited to give my blood to a good cause.” She also expressed that the nurses and staff were very kind and welcoming. Everyone who gave blood received a Soaky Mountain Day Pass. Brandon spoke about her excitement by saying, “I have never been to Soaky Mountain, so I am very excited to go for the first time.” Overall the blood drive was a success. There will be another blood drive in the fall, and all students are encouraged to donate.
