Pressley Interns with Wallace Distribution Company

This week West Side Story is featuring an Internship that Alfonso Pressley earned. This shows the powerful impact from work-based learning opportunities. Wallace Distribution Company is providing Pressley, a student at Morristown Hamblen West high school, an opportunity to work as an IT Support Technician. With this, he is doing more than observing. He gets to use his knowledge from his CTE classes while using employability skills in environments he will be in the future. 

While being in these CTE classes, he gained a lot of skills, some being strong organizational skills, communication, and social skills. Pressley has gained amazing habits and professionalism. Pressley has said, “This experience is helping him prepare for a future career in technology…”. He is a reminder that hard work pays off and being in these CTE classes has shown him real-world scenarios. Being in CTE coursework classes he has gone from managing projects to clearly explaining technical issues.  He is well deserving of this internship.
