Morristown-West High Attends HOSA State Competition



Morristown-West High School’s HOSA (Health Occupations Students of America) attended the HOSA state competition Mar. 28-30 at the Knoxville Convention Center in Knoxville, Tennessee. There were 60 events. Some of the events were HOSA Bowl, Human Growth and Development, Life Support Skills, Medical Spelling, Veterinary Science, and more.

Mackenzie Chambers (Senior), Michaela Sigler (Junior), and Faith Burke (Senior) went to the state competition. Chambers and Sigler participated in the Health Career Display. They chose to do Optometry. This competition had two rounds: the judging of the display and then the speech if they advanced. They display was in the competition along with 48 other displays, and they advanced to the second round where only 15 displays were chosen to advance.


Burke qualified at regionals for state on Health Issues Exam. This exam provides members to with an opportunity to investigate, analyze, and apply their knowledge of current health related issues.
