Saturday, Sept. 10, 2022, Morristown-West’s Cross Country team competed in the Walters State Senators Cross Country Invitational. Both the girls’ and the boys’ teams won first place overall with the boys team earning a perfect team score.
Peyton Couch ran a personal best at the meet and led the team with a third place individual finish. Couch was followed by Andee Fitzgerald(4th), Katie Tran(5th), Kyra Couch(7th), and Aisha Lawson(8th).Savannah Farmer, Lani Helton, and Megan Schang all placed in the top 15.
Nick Sexton led the boys’ team followed by: Zach Henry(2nd), Jaiden Carmichael(3rd), Elias Perez(4th), and Luis Garcia Bautista(5th). Jonny Riveria, Edgar Martinez, Chad Dalton, Eluzai Flores-Melcher, and Brayden Driver all placed in the top 15.
Congratulations to those who competed. Morristown-West’s Cross Country team will compete in Jonesborough this coming Saturday, Sept. 17, 2022.
