This year's senior class and teachers had the option to paint personal parking spots for a donation of 50 dollars. Over 100 seniors painted their parking spots. This is a record number of senior participation. Aug. 3 and 4, students and families withstood the rain and heat to paint their beautiful masterpieces. Landefeld shared that "together, the senior class this year and last year have raised a total of 5,670 dollars to Isaiah House, and that several West High students are in the foster care system." Thanks to Assistant Principal Tim Landefeld, Mrs. Kim Hall, and Ms. Brittany Long for overseeing the project. Isaiah House is located in 12 different states. According to the Isaiah 117 House website, "It started as a dream to change the way foster care began in a community. It soon became a dream to change the way foster care began across one state. It has become a dream to change the way foster care begins everywhere." Hamblen County has its own local Isaiah House.
