West High welcomes a new Special Education teacher, Brittany Walsh. She started teaching as the Resource English teacher for Jefferson County High School in 2017 for four years. Walsh says she “felt the call to stay in Special Education.” Not only does she love the students but she loves how they have influenced her. Walsh continued “I know it is where I’m supposed to be.”
Walsh originally graduated from Carson-Newman college with a degree in English Literature. She finished her Master’s degree in Special Education at LMU. She transferred to West High from Jefferson County because she and her family moved and it’s an overall easier commute. Walsh’s family includes her one year old son, Mac, and her fiancé Cameron. They also have a little pug and cattle dog mix named Layla that she says “is more of a handful than the toddler.”
Let's give the new member of our staff team a warm and friendly welcome to West High's journey!
