One of the best things that can be earned from high school before college is a scholarship. Scholarships help students with the financial hardships of college. There are plenty of scholarships one can apply for depending on the requirements that one can meet. All of the current scholarships from Morristown West have been listed below, all credit for information is given to the Morristown West School website.

Regions Riding Forward Scholarship Essay- graduating seniors will complete an online application and write an essay in 500 words or less on "An African-American who has inspired and motivated you". Equal Chance for Education- provides $25,000 scholarships for non-FAFSA eligible students who have graduated from a Tennessee high school, have a B average or better, and wish to attend one our partner universities:

· Trevecca Nazarene University

· Cumberland University

· Lipscomb University

· University of Memphis

· Christian Brothers University

· Carson Newman University

· Martin Methodist University

· Maryville College

· Milligan College

· East TN state University

If awarded this scholarship, students are asked to live at home and commute to campus, maintain a B average or better, have a definite career goal, and contribute a minimum of $4,000/year toward their degree. Young American Creative Patriotic Art Contest- Any student in grades 9-12 who is enrolled in a public, private, or parochial high school or home study program. Tennessee School of Beauty- C.B. Brown Scholarship Program- high school seniors that are not presently or previously enrolled in a Cosmetology course are eligible to apply. Applicants must be interested in pursuing a career in the field of cosmetology. This is a full tuition scholarship. Applications are available in the Counseling Office.

"Life. Made Better" Commercial Bank Scholarship- students who wish to apply should have at least a 3.0 GPA and be involved in two extracurricular activities (including sports, school clubs, volunteer work, or employment). Recommendation letter from a teacher or counselor required. Essay of at least 1,000 words describing facets of what he/she believes can make life better for individuals in the community and how he/she commits to that goal. Edith Leming Skinrood Scholarship- UMC students from East TN attending Emory & Henry or Tennessee Wesleyan University with a 3.0 or higher GPA are eligible to apply. Applications are available in the Counseling Office.
