West High School athletes Jayden Howard (senior) and Kennedie Couch (junior) competed at the indoor track state championships at Vanderbilt University on Feb. 7–8. Howard finished 6th in the 60-meter dash, while Couch achieved a personal record in the 3200-meter run, and both described the competition as a "great experience." Morristown West High School freshman Axel Vargas Huipe recently  took home the top prize in the school’s annual Martin Luther King Jr. writing contest, an achievement that has given him a major boost in self-confidence.
